Federal Records & Archives

This section collects federal records that document Northern Cheyenne government, history, land, trust responsibilities, legislation, agency actions, hearings, and related public records. Federal copies can preserve important material when a local copy is difficult to locate.

Congress.gov and GovInfo

Congressional hearings, reports, bills, and exhibits can contain Northern Cheyenne Tribal Council resolutions, testimony, correspondence, and supporting documents. When a tribal resolution appears as an exhibit in a federal hearing, the federal copy can provide a useful independent archival source.

Record Room note: A federal archive copy does not automatically prove that it is the complete tribal record. Whenever possible, the Record Room will preserve both the tribal source and the federal archival source and identify where each copy came from.
